Become a Community Partner

For 85 years, the Junior League of San Antonio, Inc. has partnered with local agencies by providing funding and volunteer hours to projects which improve our community. Projects are selected which further the mission of the JLSA, Inc. and are focused on areas pertaining to our JLSA, Inc. mission and position statements.

Project Selection Process:

To become part of the JLSA, Inc. community program, agencies should submit a proposal for a "Done-in-a-Day" project. "Done-in-a-Day" projects are short term projects which can be completed within a 4-8 hour work session. This process will serve as the preferred mechanism for the JLSA, Inc. to select new long-term community placements for our members. A "Done-in-a-Day" project will allow both the JLSA, Inc .and the partnering agency to test the relationship for compatibility. Upon successful completion of a "Done-in-a-Day" project, the Research and Development Committee may consider developing a more in-depth placement opportunity with the participating agency.

"Done-in-a-Day" Project Applications:

Appropriate "Done-in-a-Day" projects require 5 to 20 volunteers and 4 to 8 hours to complete. "Done-in-a-Day" project proposals may request both volunteers and funding or volunteers only. A representative from your agency must be present for all projects, especially at all times for projects with children. Please review the additional guidelines below before submitting a project proposal(s):

  • Proposal(s) must be submitted on the JLSA, Inc. "Done-in-a-Day" Proposal Form (see below). If you are unable to submit your proposal online, please email or call us for a form. (Our contact information is listed below.)
  • You may submit multiple proposals. Please submit a Proposal Form online for each project
  • Proposals must include a copy of your 501(c)(3) status and a copy of your general liability insurance. Please mail or email a copy of each to us. (Our contact information is listed below.) Incomplete proposals will not be considered.
  • Proposals must be received no later than November 2 for projects January through May, and no later that March 31 for projects June through December.
  • If for any reason your organization finds it necessary to cancel a confirmed "Done-in-a-Day" project, the corresponding funding will also be forfeited.
  • Agencies who are selected for a "Done-in-a-Day" project that has been approved with funding will be asked to purchase the items and materials needed for the project and present receipts to JLSA, Inc. for reimbursement of the amount granted.
  • All agencies will be notified on the status of providing volunteers approximately 30 days after the deadline
  • Should your proposal not be selected at this time, your agency will remain in the JLSA, Inc. database and you will receive subsequent requests for Done-in-a-Day projects.
