It is a privilege to bring this statement to life through the works and deeds of our league. The Junior League is an active supporter of the San Antonio community with countless hours of volunteer work, financial donations to groups in need, as well as grants to our community partners.
The federal government places a value of $18.77 per hour on volunteer work. However, there is more value in an hour than a mere $18. There is commitment, fulfillment, and hope instilled in each minute. Both the giver and the receiver obtain lasting rewards from these hours. Based on this figure, the League's volunteer time represents a donation of nearly $200,000 to our community each year. Roughly an additional $100,000 in cash funds are also donated to the community from the Junior League of San Antonio.
It is through our time and these gifts that the mission of the Junior League of San Antonio is achieved one step, one dollar, and one smile at a time.
