This past year has been anything but predictable; however, even throughout the hardships, the Junior League of San Antonio, Inc. (JLSA) has continued to support its mission—promoting voluntarism to build stronger communities. As we continue to march forward through the pandemic and work to find strength in difficult times, JLSA is proud to present its 3rd Annual Unstoppable: Passion for a Purpose Luncheon featuring keynote speaker Leigh Anne Tuohy.

An inspiring businesswoman and author, portrayed by Sandra Bullock in the film “The Blind Side,” Touhy is the ideal speaker to share first-hand accounts of overcoming the trials and tribulations of entrepreneurship, raising a family, and navigating life’s difficult situations.

To ensure the safety of all members and guests, this year’s luncheon will be held in a virtual format on Tuesday, March 2nd at 12 p.m. The event will be conversational in style and will be emceed by San Antonio’s KJ 97 host Jamie Martin. As the League continues to pivot to keep its mission moving forward, the organization is thrilled to offer this unique and inspiring event in an accessible, virtual format for even more community members to enjoy.

Each year, JLSA reaches more than 60 non-profit organizations that focus on a variety of community issues including, but not limited to, community health and wellness, family and children services, senior services, environmentalism and conservationism, and the fine and performing arts. This year—pandemic-driven hardships aside—was no different.

Throughout the pandemic and beyond transforming traditional events into safer, more accessible virtual formats, JLSA has donated over 2,000 pounds of peanut butter, provided STEM education to girls, coordinated a blood drive, and provided trainings on mental health and other essential topics. Simply stated, not even a global pandemic can prevent the League’s members from supporting San Antonio and its surrounding communities.
