Learn What It Takes To Serve On A Nonprofit Board Through LeaderBOARD

“A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.”—John Maxwell

Applications are now open for the 6th annual LeaderBOARD training program for community members serving or interested in serving on nonprofit boards of directors. As a part of JLSA’s mission to improve communities by developing trained volunteers to empower them to be informed, responsible, and effective board members, LeaderBOARD is the perfect start for professionals to learn about fundraising, governance, strategic planning, and advocacy taught by local experts in each respective field. The program is open to both Junior League members and the general public, including male and female participants.

LeaderBOARD alumnus Nick Guinn, a trademark and patent attorney with Gunn, Lee & Cave, P.C., says, “LeaderBOARD is a game changer. I made new friends through the program who have helped me professionally and personally. I would like to say that I have done the same for them. Also, LeaderBOARD gave me skills that I have used in my volunteer work. For instance, I am no longer afraid of fundraising for nonprofit boards. I now see fundraising as an opportunity to serve—not something to run away from. I recommend LeaderBOARD to anyone who wants to grow as a servant leader.”

LeaderBOARD includes six sessions that will take place on the second Wednesday of each month. Course completion is celebrated with a diverse meet-and-greet with community nonprofits who are seeking charismatic, enthusiastic, trained volunteers to serve on their boards.
