Position Statements

For 100 years, the Junior League of San Antonio, Inc. has partnered with local agencies by providing funding and volunteer hours to projects which improve our community. Projects are selected which further the mission of the Junior League of San Antonio and are focused on areas pertaining to our mission and position statements.

Historically, the Junior League of San Antonio has demonstrated leadership and involvement in a wide range of community programs and support of a wide range of public issues. As part of its community involvement, the Junior League of San Antonio has identified a number of broad public issues which affect our community. Each Position Statement is adopted because a recognized need has been identified in our community through the research and development of community placements. Therefore, the Junior League of San Antonio adopts the following Position Statements:

ABUSE
The Junior League of San Antonio recognizes that many types of abuse exist and supports efforts to combat any type of abuse such as, but not limited to substance abuse, physical abuse, and neglect.

AGING
The Junior League of San Antonio supports efforts designed to ensure the physical, emotional, social, and economic well-being of the aging members of our community.

ARTS
The Junior League of San Antonio supports efforts to promote the Arts.

CHILDREN
The Junior League of San Antonio supports efforts designed to ensure the health and well-being of children.

EDUCATION
The Junior League of San Antonio supports efforts to fight illiteracy and to promote quality education for the people of San Antonio.

ENVIRONMENT
The Junior League of San Antonio supports efforts to protect the environment in order to ensure the availability of our natural resources for future generations.

FAMILY PRESERVATION
The Junior League of San Antonio supports efforts which foster a greater sense of self-esteem and personal responsibility so that individuals, families, and communities are strengthened.

VOLUNTARISM
The Junior League of San Antonio promotes voluntarism and involvement in volunteer activities.

WOMEN
The Junior League of San Antonio supports efforts to ensure that women have the opportunities and services essential to their intellectual, economic, social, mental, physical, and emotional well-being.
