The Junior League of San Antonio hosts several fundraising events throughout the year to fund League projects in our community. Each event is planned and executed by volunteer members of the League who make up the Fund Development Council.

One of our most exciting events every year is the Holiday Olé Market! This event is a huge undertaking and requires a lot of coordination with members of the committee, who in turn have the opportunity to learn new skills and gain experience with event planning and fundraising. “Being the Auction chair is challenging and rewarding at the same time. By reaching out to the Community for donations for Auction, I know I am supporting the Holiday Olé and the League through fundraising and recognition.”

“In the communications committee, our role is to establish a communications timeline, create content, and deliver information about Holiday Olé both internally to league members and externally to the community. We have opportunities to create social media posts, write e-blasts, work with media outlets, and design signage. By working with several platforms, our goal is to make sure that the work about Holiday Olé is spread far and wide throughout the city of San Antonio!”

Ground Operations Committee

“In the Ground Operations Committee, we are working on all the behind-the-scenes. Anything from ordering ice, making sure that the Wi-Fi is strong enough for our event, planning the music playing during the event, and the list goes on. Our job is to make sure everything runs smoothly during Holiday Olé! I am proud to be a part of the 25th Holiday Olé and honored to be a part of this amazing group of women!”

Merchant Committee

“The Merchant Committee is in charge of contacting potential merchants and managing accepted merchants throughout the entire process. We play a role in the jury process, decide where merchants are placed at the event space, and we are the point of contact for merchants during the Holiday Olé Market.”

Merchant Hospitality

“The role of Merchant Hospitality within Holiday Olé is to facilitate accommodations for our merchants such as providing discounted hotel rates. Our Merchant Hospitality Room is a secluded area for our merchants to take a break and grab a snack or drink from the in-kind donations we have received from generous businesses throughout San Antonio.”

“Our committee has both creative and logistical roles that work together to prepare the venue for the event. Planning the parties requires detail-oriented personalities to line up specific like catering and behind-the-scenes timelines. Décor for the auditorium is more of an artistic role, and people who enjoy designing spaces and themes events thrive in that position. Overall, the Parties and Décor Committee is fun and engaging from the time you sign up until that final day of Holiday Olé.”

We are more than just the team behind the piece of paper but the team that is ready to help welcome you to a wonderful event!”
