Welcome to the web site for the Junior League of San Antonio, Inc. It is my extreme honor to serve as the President for the 2012-2013 year. Founded in 1924, the Junior League of San Antonio is an organization of women committed to promoting voluntarism, developing the potential of women and toimproving our community through the effective action and leadership of trained volunteers.
This year, the Junior League of San Antonio will donate more than 16,000 hours of volunteer time and $100,000 in direct financial support to the San Antonio community. The Junior League of San Antonio will reach more than 450,000 people this year through our community programs, grants and done-in-a-day projects. We are able to do this through the dedication of our 1,250 new, active, and sustaining members. Some of our active members volunteer directly with community agencies, while others put in countless hours planning and executing our various fundraising activities. The league is fortunate to have a very solid base of sustaining members who continue to support the league and our community well past their active years. Sustaining members support the league by serving as advisors to various committees and councils and they also continue to serve the San Antonio community by serving on, and sometimes chairing, various prestigious not-for-profit boards. Sustainers are able to accomplish so much in the community because of the leadership training they received from their Junior League membership. The unwavering commitment of all our members allows the Junior League to continually address a wide range of needs in the community such as teen pregnancy, arts & culture and mental illness.
